About Christy Bottie
Christy Bottie is a Philadelphia-based working artist, painter, muralist, and lifelong student of the visual arts. Her artistic journey began at Philadelphia’s High School for Creative and Performing Arts, continued through The University of the Arts, and culminated in a four-year Certificate in Fine Art Painting from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.
Over the years, Christy’s practice has grown far beyond the traditional studio. She has created paintings and murals for private and commercial clients, working with and exploring all mediums. She has designed and produced large-scale public artwork (Philadelphia Mural Arts), and transformed spaces through murals, scenic painting, faux finishes, set design, and custom fabrication(2300 Arena).
Her work has always been rooted in both creativity and craftsmanship, approaching each project with curiosity, precision, and a hands-on understanding of how an idea becomes a finished space or work of art.
From fine art painting, figure drawing and murals, to reimagining environments using creative problem solving and design techniques, Christy’s career has been a continuous exploration of how art can exist in many forms and places.
This website is a visual timeline of that journey.
